NBA: Minnesota 106, San Antonio 96

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Kevin Love led Minnesota with 24 points and 15 rebounds Monday, elevating the Timberwolves to a 106-96 victory over San Antonio.

Love's double-double helped the T-Wolves snap a 16-game losing streak to the Spurs.

Luke Ridnour and Michael Beasley each added 19 points, as Minnesota beat San Antonio for the first time since Jan. 3, 2007.

The T-Wolves notched their second straight victory, after snapping an 18-game skid that stretched back to last season with a win Sunday over NBA champion Dallas.

The setback was a costly one for the Spurs, who lost Manu Ginobili to a broken bone in his left hand in the second quarter. Tim Duncan and Richard Jefferson each scored 16 points to pace San Antonio.
