NBA: Minnesota 99, Dallas 82

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Kevin Love's double-double of 25 points and 17 rebounds Sunday helped Minnesota break an 18-game losing streak with a 99-82 win over Dallas.

Rookie Ricky Rubio added 14 points and distributed seven assists for the Timberwolves, who won their first game under new Coach Rick Adelman and broke a franchise-record skid that stretched back to last season.

Anthony Tolliver contributed 13 points and six rebounds as Minnesota used a 15-0 run to close out the game and improve to 1-3 on the young season.

The NBA champion Mavericks, meanwhile, continued to struggle, dropping to 1-4.

Dirk Nowitzki put in 21 points for Dallas.
