PHOENIX, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Veteran guard Michael Redd signed a contract with the Phoenix Suns Thursday, the team said. Terms of the deal were not announced.
The 0-2 Suns are taking a chance on the 6-foot-6, 200-pound, 11-year veteran who tore the MCL and ACL in his left knee during both the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
Redd, 32, averaged 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 578 games, all with the Milwaukee Bucks, but played in just 61 games over the last three seasons because of injuries.
"Michael Redd has a proven pedigree as a first-rate NBA scorer," said Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby. "He will work with our renowned training staff to get into basketball shape. When he is ready to play, Michael will be a welcome addition to our team."
