NHL: Boston 2, Phoenix 1 (OT)

GLENDALE, Ariz., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Defenseman Dennis Seidenberg scored a rare goal 58 seconds into overtime Wednesday, giving the Boston Bruins a 2-1 win over Phoenix.

The Bruins have won seven in a row and are 21-2-1 since Nov. 1. They have lost a league-low 10 games this season.

The goal for Seidenberg was his second of the season and his 27th in 489 career games spread over nine years with four teams. He set a personal high during Boston's Stanley Cup winning campaign last year with seven goals.

His goal ended more than 45 minutes of scoreless hockey. David Krejci gave Boston the lead 47 seconds into the contest and Ray Whitney tied it late in the first period.

Tuukka Rask picked up the win with 21 saves. Jason LaBarbera stopped 27 shots for the Coyotes, who lost their third straight.
