NHL: Detroit 3, St. Louis 2

DETROIT, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk and Niklas Kronwall scored in the third period Tuesday, rallying the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 win over St. Louis.

With the Wings trailing 2-1, Datsyuk tipped in a shot by Ian White 11:19 into the final frame for the equalizer.

Kronwall notched the go-ahead goal less than a minute later with a wrist shot from the slot that got past a screened Brian Elliott, and Detroit hung on to win its 11th straight home game.

Nicklas Lidstrom also scored and Jimmy Howard turned aside 29-of-31 shots for the Red Wings, who leapfrogged St. Louis into second place in the Central Division.

Matt D'Agostini and Alex Steen scored for the Blues and Elliott finished with 29 saves.
