NBA: New Jersey 90, Washington 84

WASHINGTON, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Deron Williams and Kris Humphries combined for 44 points Monday and the New Jersey Nets overcame a big deficit to post a 90-84 win over Washington.

Williams scored 23 while Humphries added 21 points and 16 rebounds for the Nets, who climbed out of a 21-point first-half hole to take the season opener for both teams.

Anthony Morrow contributed 16 points for New Jersey and Johan Petro filled in for injured starting center Brook Lopez with 11 more.

The Wizards were led by Nick Young with 16 points and Jordan Crawford's 15.

John Wall was limited to 13 points, managing to hit only 3-of-13 shots from the field.
