NBA: Oklahoma City 97, Orlando 89

OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 25 (UPI) -- Kevin Durant poured in 30 points Sunday and the Oklahoma City Thunder bested Orlando 97-89 in the season opener for both teams.

Durant, the NBA's leading scorer in each of the last two seasons, picked up where he left off, going 11-of-19 from the field. He added six assists and five rebounds for the Thunder.

James Harden chipped in 19 points off the bench, and Russell Westbrook contributed 14, seven rebounds and six assists for the winners.

Ryan Anderson led the Magic with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Dwight Howard, who has asked to be traded from Orlando, added 11 points and 15 rebounds.
