NHL: New York Islanders 3, Winnipeg 2 (SO)

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- P.A. Parenteau had the game-winner in the shootout and also scored in regulation Tuesday to give the New York Islanders a 3-2 win over Winnipeg.

It was the Islanders' second shootout victory in as many games.

Michael Grabner also scored for the Islanders. Evgeni Nabokov made 19 saves in 26 minutes of ice time after starter Al Montoya was injured on a collision with Winnipeg's Evander Kane and left the game.

Nik Antropov and Andrew Ladd scored for the Jets, who have lost three of their last five games. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 31 shots in the loss.

All of the scoring in regulation came in the first two periods, with Ladd's goal a 9:46 of the second period knotting the score 2-2.
