Dawson leads Q School with one round left

LA QUINTA, Calif., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Marco Dawson grabbed the lead after five rounds of the PGA Tour Q School Sunday, firing a 4-under-par 68 for a 3-shot advantage in California.

Dawson's 90-hole total stood at 17-under 343, three better than Stephen Gangluff (5-under 67) with just one round to go.

Brendon Todd (68) and Harris English (70) ended the day knotted in third place one shot further back at 13-under 347 at the TPC Stadium Course.

Fourth-round leader Will Claxton managed only a 4-over 76 and fell into a four-way tie for fifth at minus-11.

Those who finish in the Top 25 of the event will earn PGA Tour cards for next season.
