NHL: Calgary 1, Nashville 0

CALGARY, Alberta, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Derek Smith's first career goal was all the Calgary Flames needed Tuesday to stop Nashville 1-0.

Miikka Kiprusoff made 26 saves -- 11 in the third period -- for his first shutout of the season. Calgary has won two straight.

Pekka Rinne was nearly flawless in goal for the Predators with 28 saves. But Nashville has been held to two goals or fewer in its past five games and has lost five of six.

Rinne was just 10 seconds away from escaping the first period unscathed, but Smith knocked the puck in from the right side of the crease at 18:50 off assists from TJ Brodie and Jarome Iginla.
