RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Andrew Ladd scored the tiebreaking goal in the second period Friday, sending the Winnipeg Jets to a 3-1 victory over Carolina.
The Hurricanes lost for the ninth time in 12 games, getting only a second-period goal from Jiri Tlusty against Chris Mason.

Tlusty's score created a 1-1 tie, but Ladd put a backhander past Cam Ward 6:25 into the second for what turned out to be the game-winning goal.
Winnipeg protected the 2-1 lead until Bryan Little scored into an empty net with 9 seconds left in the game.
Winnipeg won for the fourth time in five games, getting 20 saves from Mason. Ward allowed two goals on 29 shots.
