ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Taylor Hall put Edmonton in front for good late in the second period Friday and the Oilers went on to down Minnesota 5-2.
Edmonton ended the Wild's five-game winning streak and won in Minnesota for the first time in almost five years. The Oilers had lost in each of their previous 17 trips to St. Paul.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored twice for the Oilers, giving him 10 goals for the season. He gave Edmonton a 2-0 lead with 3:31 left in the first period and added an empty-net goal with 1:23 to go in regulation.
Minnesota overcame its 2-0 deficit on goals by Devin Setoguchi and Pierre-Marc Bouchard, but Hall gave the Oilers a 3-2 advantage by scoring on a slap shot with 4:31 left in the second.
Nikolai Khabibulin picked up the win with 30 saves. Josh Harding allowed four goals on 28 shots.
