NHL: Vancouver 3, Colorado 0

DENVER, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Cory Schneider made 24 saves in recording the second shutout of his 45-game NHL career Wednesday, giving the Vancouver Canucks a 3-0 win over Colorado.

Schneider's first shutout came last season, during which he was in goal 25 times for the Western Conference champions.

Manny Malhotra, who has played in all 21 of Vancouver's games this season, scored for the first time with 2:57 remaining in the first period.

Alex Burrows added to the Vancouver lead in the second and Ryan Kesler contributed an empty-net goal with 30 seconds remaining in regulation. Vancouver has won back-to-back games.

Semyon Varlamov allowed two goals on 29 shots. The Avalanche's three home wins this season are the fewest in the NHL.
