NHL: Columbus 4, Calgary 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Jeff Carter scored twice for Columbus Monday and the Blue Jackets won consecutive games for the first time this season with a 4-1 verdict over Calgary.

Antoine Vermette scored, Vinny Prospal added three assists and Rick Nash chipped in with an empty-netter for the Blue Jackets, who beat Nashville Saturday and are in last place in the Western Conference Central Division at 5-13-2.

Curtis Sanford made his third straight start in goal and responded by turning aside 27-of-28 shots for the victory.

Mark Giordano netted Calgary's only goal and Henrik Karlsson made 26 saves for the Flames.
