NHL: Winnipeg 4, Washington 1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Evander Kane scored the tying and go-ahead goals Thursday, lifting Winnipeg to a 4-1 victory over Washington.

The Jets handed the Capitals their third straight loss, overcoming an early one-goal deficit and getting 31 saves from Ondrej Pavelec.

Alexander Semin produced the only goal against Pavelec 3:53 into the game, but Kane tied it less than 4 minutes later.

Kane then put the Jets in front 6:38 into the second period. Blake Wheeler and Kyle Wellwood both had power-play goals in the second to give the Jets their second straight win on the heels of a five-game skid.

Washington has a 3-6-1 record since opening the season with seven straight victories. Michal Neuvirth gave up the four goals on 31 shots.
