TORONTO, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Joe Nieuwendyk, Ed Belfour, Doug Gilmour and Mark Howe were inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame Monday in a Toronto ceremony.
Nieuwendyk racked up 564 goals and 562 assists over 1,257 games in a career that lasted from 1988 to 2006. He added 66 goals and 50 assists in 158 playoff games.
He played much of his career with Calgary and Dallas, and is currently the Stars' general manager.
His one-time teammate in Dallas, Belfour was known as "The Eagle" during his 17-year career as a goalie. Belfour had a career that spanned 17 seasons, much of it with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Gilmour, a scrappy goal-scorer, won a Stanley Cup with the Flames in 1989 along with Nieuwendyk after beginning his career in St. Louis during the 1983-84 season. Gilmour amassed 450 goals and 964 assists over 1,474 games.
Howe, son of the famous Gordie Howe, played 22 seasons in the NHL and the old World Hockey Association.
He starred for the Houston Aeros of the WHA in the 1970s alongside his father and brother Marty, winning the league's rookie of the year award in 1974.
