DALLAS, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Loui Eriksson, one of 10 players to score in the game, produced a goal with 1:05 remaining in overtime Friday to give the Dallas Stars a 7-6 win over Colorado.

Goaltenders who had been having solid starts to the season both had poor efforts in a game that saw 10 goals scored over the final 34:21 of regulation.

Matt Duchene had a hat trick for the Avalanche and Eriksson's game-winner was his second goal of the contest.

The Stars improved to 6-1 at home and became the first team in the Western Conference to reach nine victories. Colorado has dropped two in a row and fell in overtime for the first time this season.

After Duchene scored on the power play with 7:43 to go in the first period, the Avalanche owned a 2-0 lead.

Eriksson then started a run of four straight Dallas goals in the second period, three on the power play. Colorado, however, came up with two goals late in the second, one of them from Duchene, to tie it at 4-4 going into the third.

Colorado twice took the lead in the third period, but the Stars came back each time. Jamie Benn tipped in a shot with 4:10 to go in regulation to forge a 6-6 tie.

Eriksson's winning goal, his eighth score of the season, came on a wrist shot that beat Semyon Varlamov.

Varlamov, who came into the game with a 2.50 goals-against average, stopped 22 shots.

Kari Lehtonen got the win despite giving up the six goals on 40 shots. He had been allowing a mere 1.75 goals per game. His nine victories are the most in the NHL this season.
