NHL: Carolina 3, Chicago 0

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Workhorse goaltender Cam Ward made 30 saves for his first shutout of the season Friday in leading the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-0 win over Chicago.

Ward appeared in all but eight of Carolina's games last year and he has been in goal for eight of the Hurricanes' first 10 outings this season. It was his 17th career shutout over seven seasons and ended Carolina's three-game losing streak.
