EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Taylor Hall and Ryan Smyth each scored third-period goals Monday and the Edmonton Oilers rallied for a 3-1 win over Nashville.
Nashville held a 1-0 lead when Ryan Suter was whistled for a holding penalty early in the frame, putting Edmonton on the power play. Hall responded with the equalizer, netting his first goal of the year.
The Oilers then grabbed the lead 2 minutes later when Smyth received a pass from Shawn Horcoff, deked Nashville netminder Pekka Rinne to the ice and finished with a backhander.
Ryan Jones added an empty-net goal and Nikolai Khabibulin earned his first win of the season, turning aside 11-of-12 shots for the Oilers.
Sergei Kostitsyn got the Predators' goal while Rinne finished with 22 saves.
