NHL: Anaheim 3, San Jose 2

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Teemu Selanne netted two first-period goals Monday and the Anaheim Ducks went on to post their fourth straight win, a 3-2 victory over San Jose.

Selanne opened the scoring midway through the initial period when he one-timed a feed through the crease from Saku Koivu for his first goal of the season.

The Finnish great made it 2-0 5 minutes later when he batted in the rebound of Koivu's shot off San Jose goalie Antti Niemi, who was making his season debut after missing the Sharks' first three games.

Corey Perry added a third-period goal while Dan Ellis stopped 41 shots for the Ducks, who improved to 4-1-0 to start the season.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Brent Burns found the net for the Sharks, who stumbled to their third loss in four contests.

Niemi stopped 19-of-21 shots.
