NHL: Chicago 4, Winnipeg 3

CHICAGO, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Marian Hossa put Chicago in front 33 seconds into the middle period Thursday and the Blackhawks kept Winnipeg winless with a 4-3 victory.

After Hossa then scored the go-ahead tally, Dave Bolland produced his third goal of the young season for a 4-2 lead.

Kyle Wellwood brought the Jets within one late in the second, but Ray Emery shut down Winnipeg the rest of the way and finished with 29 saves.

Ondrej Pavelec, who allowed five goals in his first start of the season, stopped 28 shots.

The Blackhawks won their second straight at home after losing on the road to open the season.
