VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Camilo Sanvezzo scored in the opening minute and Long Tan scored in the first minute of the second half Wednesday to bring Vancouver a 2-1 win over D.C. United.

Vancouver has won just six games all season, but two of those victories have come in the Whitecaps' last two contests.

Sanvezzo gathered in a cross by Jordan Harvey and scored from the center of the box before the game was a minute old. Tan's goal came on a header in the first minute of the second half.

Brandon McDonald brought United within one in the 57th minute.
