PITTSBURGH, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Richard Park's shorthanded score late in the second period Tuesday gave the Pittsburgh Penguins a two-goal lead and the Penguins went on to down Florida 4-2.
Marcel Goc had pulled the Panthers to within a 2-1 12 minutes into the middle frame, one-timing a Jack Skille pass into the net past Marc-Andre Fleury.

But Park responded only 3 minutes later, firing home the rebound of a Craig Adams shot after the Penguins stole the puck near the Florida net during a Panthers power play.
Pascal Dupuis, Matt Cooke and James Neal also scored as the Penguins won their home opener.
Fleury stopped 32-of-34 shots, earning the win.
Tomas Fleischmann added a goal and Jose Theodore turned aside 25 shots for the Panthers.
