NHL: Buffalo 4, Los Angeles 2

BERLIN, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Luke Adam scored a pair of goals less than 3 minutes apart Saturday and the Buffalo Sabres posted a 4-2 win over Los Angeles in Berlin.

The second-year center broke a scoreless tie with a shot from the top of the slot 2:40 into the second period.

He then made it 2-0 at the 5-minute mark when he stole a pass in back of the Kings' net and poked in the rebound of a Thomas Vanek shot for the Sabres, who went on to win the first regular-season NHL game ever played in Germany.

Paul Gaustad and Drew Stafford also scored while Ryan Miller turned aside 31-of-33 shots for Buffalo, which took its second straight European contest to start the season.

Anze Kopitar scored twice and Jonathan Bernier stopped 22-of-26 shots for the Kings.
