CINCINNATI, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Mike Nugent's 43-yard field goal as time was running out Sunday lifted the Cincinnati Bengals to a 23-20 comeback victory over Buffalo.
After becoming the first team in NFL history to post back-to-back wins in games in which they trailed by 18 or more points, Buffalo blew a 14-point halftime lead against the Bengals.
Andy Dalton capped a 10-play, 80-yard drive in the fourth quarter with a 3-yard quarterback sneak, tying the game 20-20, and then drove Cincinnati 56 yards with the clock winding down to set up the game-winning kick.
Dalton finished 18-of-36 through the air for 298 yards, one TD pass and two interceptions for the Bengals (2-2).
Cedric Benson rushed 19 times for 104 yards and A.J. Green hauled down four passes for 118 yards in the win.
Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 20-of-34 passes for 199 yards for Buffalo (3-1), which absorbed its first loss of the season.
