LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers will retain their entire coaching staff for the 2012 season, the team announced Friday.

In his first year as manager, Don Mattingly led the Dodgers to an 82-79 record. His staff -- consisting of hitting coach Dave Hansen, bench coach Trey Hillman, pitching coach Rick Honeycutt, bullpen coach Ken Howell, first base coach Davey Lopes, third base coach Tim Wallach and coach Manny Mota -- will all return next season.

"These guys do a great job with teaching and development while creating an atmosphere that gives our players a chance to play the type of baseball we feel we can get us back to the playoffs and an opportunity to win a world championship," Mattingly said.

Mota has been with the Dodgers organization for 32 seasons. Honeycutt has worked for the club for six seasons and Howell will be entering his fifth year with the team.
