NFL names best players in Week 3

NEW YORK, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Oakland's Darren McFadden and the New York Giants' Eli Manning were picked Wednesday as their respective NFL conference's offensive players of the week.

McFadden copped the AFC honor by rushing for 171 yards and two scores on 19 rushes in the Raiders win over the New York Jets.

Manning took the NFC award after completing 6-of-23 passes for 254 yards and four touchdowns and a passer rating of 145.7 in a win at Philadelphia.

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis and Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber took their conferences' weekly defensive player honors. Lewis had 10 tackles and forced a fumble on a sack in Baltimore's win at St. Louis. Barber had an interception, a fumble recovery, four tackles and three passes defensed in the Buccaneers' victory over Atlanta.

Buffalo Bills kicker Rian Lindell and Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey earned the special teams awards for the NFL's third week of the season. Lindell hit a 28-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Bills to a win over New England. Bailey made all six field-goal attempts he tried in the Cowboys' win over Washington.
