CHICAGO, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Mark Teahen and Adam Loewen drew bases-loaded walks in the ninth inning Wednesday and Toronto closed its season with a 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox.
Trailing 2-1 entering their last at-bats, the Blue Jays led off the ninth with a Kelly Johnson double off Chris Sale (2-2) and then loaded the bases when David Cooper singled and J.P. Arencibia was issued an intentional pass.
Sale then issued back-to-back, run-scoring walks to Teahen and Loewen, allowing the Blue Jays to avoid a sweep in their season-ending, three-game series against the Chisox.
Shawn Camp (6-3) got the win with a scoreless eighth inning and Frank Francisco earned his 17th save for Toronto, which finished 81-81, good for fourth place in the American League East.
Gordon Beckham smacked a solo homer and Alexi Ramirez added an RBI double for the Chisox, who concluded the 2011 season at 79-83, third in the AL Central.
