Chicago released Guillen as their field manager Monday and it was widely reported he could land with the Florida Marlins. Guillen, 47, had wanted out if the White Sox wouldn't give him a contract extension beyond 2012.

In a Twitter post at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Guillen wrote: "Weird to be in miami in this time but very happy ready to go."

Chisox General Manager Ken Williams said the team has agreed on compensation with an undisclosed team but Guillen is free to negotiate with any club, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The newspaper said the White Sox would get two minor league players as compensation if he signs with Florida. The Tribune said two scouting sources said Guillen is expected to be offered a four-year deal by the Marlins worth nearly $16 million.

At Florida, Guillen would succeed interim manager Jack McKeon, who announced Monday he would retire at season's end. McKeon took over in June when Edwin Rodriguez quit.

MLB.com has reported one of the minor leaguers will be infielder Osvaldo Martinez. The Tribune indicated the other player isn't expected to come from Florida's current 40-man roster

Guillen managed the White Sox to a record of 678-617 during his eight-year tenure and a World Series title in 2005.

The White Sox have a losing record this season and are in third place in the American League Central.

Snow forecast for Super Bowl XLVIII logo

NEW YORK, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- The logo for Super Bowl XLVIII, which is to be played in New Jersey in February 2014, features a snowflake to reflect the outdoor venue's weather possibilities.

The game, scheduled for Feb. 2, 2014, is the first for an outdoor stadium in a cold-weather climate. It was awarded to MetLife Stadium, the home of the New York Giants and New York Jets in East Rutherford, N.J.

The local committee staged a contest for the game logo -- unveiled Tuesday -- and accepted an entry that shows the George Washington Bridge, which links New York and New Jersey, with also "NY" and "NJ" flanking the snowflake. The words "Super Bowl" are across the top and there is also a football and "XLVIII."

"I think that's great because a little snow will be great for us," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday about the snowflake. "Whatever comes our way, we're going to be prepared for it."

NFL team owners granted the East Rutherford site an exemption from Super Bowl venue guidelines that mandate a Super Bowl site have a minimum average temperature of 50 degrees Fahrenheit, unless the game is played at a domed stadium or a field with a movable roof.

Super Bowl XLVI is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2012, in Indianapolis's Lucas Oil Stadium, which has a retractable roof. Super Bowl XLVII is to be played Feb. 3, 2013, at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
