ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Yorvit Torrealba homered twice, including a grand slam, and the Texas Rangers overcame four Seattle homers for a 12-5 win Sunday.
Torrealba drove in five runs while Ian Kinsler and Adrian Beltre each had three hits, including a homer, as the American League West-champion Rangers finished their 2011 home schedule with a 52-29 mark.
The victory put them a game ahead of AL Central champion Detroit for home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
Derek Holland (16-5) capped his regular season with a five-game winning streak, allowing five hits and three runs over five frames. He recorded seven strikeouts.
Seattle's Charlie Furbush (4-10) was roughed up for six hits and six runs (five earned) over 4 1/3 innings.
The Mariners lost despite homers from Mike Carp, Alex Liddi, Kyle Seager and Chris Gimenez.
