MLB: Los Angeles Angels 4, Oakland 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Torii Hunter drove in three runs and Jerome Williams delivered solid start Saturday, boosting the Los Angeles Angels to a 4-2 win over Oakland.

Hunter provided an RBI single in the first inning then belted a two-run homer in the sixth to break the game open, helping the Angels keep their post-season hopes alive.

Williams (4-0) logged his fourth win in six starts and three relief appearances since being promoted from Class AAA Salt Lake in August, holding the A's to one run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings.

Scott Downs hurled a scoreless eighth and Jordan Walden collected his 32nd save as the Angels pulled to within 2 1/2 games of Boston in the American League wild card race.

Oakland's Guillermo Moscoso (8-10) was touched for three runs (four earned) on five hits over seven innings.

Jemile Weeks went 3-for-5 with a pair of run-scoring singles for the A's.
