Ricci Bitti re-elected president of ITF

BANGKOK, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Francesco Ricci Bitti was elected Friday to a fourth term as president of the International Tennis Federation, the governing body of world tennis.

The new term of Ricci Bitti, 69, will end in 2015. He was first elected to the position in 1999. Ricci Bitti also serves on the International Olympic Committee.

The election result was announced during the ITF general meeting in Bangkok.

"I thank all the delegates who came to Bangkok and who work hard all year in support of tennis," Ricci Bitti said. "They have elected an excellent new board of directors and I look forward to working with all of them to face the challenges of the next years."
