Vikings' safety Johnson in DWI arrest

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Minnesota Vikings safety Tyrell Johnson was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of driving while impaired, jail records show.

The State Patrol brought him to the Hennepin County jail at about 3:15 a.m. and booked him on fourth-degree DWI, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

He was released about two hours later.

Johnson, who dropped a potential game-saving interception Sunday in Minnesota's loss to Tampa Bay, is in his fourth season with the Vikings, having been drafted in 2008 out of Arkansas State.

Johnson's official online Viking biography lists him as being active with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a frequent speaker to youth and student groups, the Star Tribune said.
