SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Carlos Beltran cracked a pair of solo home runs Wednesday and the San Francisco Giants completed a three-game sweep with a 3-1 win over San Diego.
Beltran's first homer, a solo shot in the first inning, tied the score at 1-1 and his bases-empty clout in the sixth gave San Francisco a 2-1 advantage.
Tim Lincecum (13-12) broke a personal three-game winless streak, handcuffing the Padres on one unearned run. The right-hander surrendered four hits, walked two and struck out six.
Mat Latos (7-14) took the loss despite fanning eight Giants over seven innings, yielding three runs on seven hits and issuing one walk.
Jesus Guzman got San Diego's only RBI.
