MLB: Los Angeles Angels 6, Oakland 3

OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Howie Kendrick hit a pair of two-run homers Tuesday that carried the Los Angeles Angels past Oakland 6-3.

Kendrick had two of the Angels' nine hits, as did Maicer Izturis, who drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning on a fielder's choice.

The Angels turned four double plays in the victory, which kept them three games behind first-place Texas in the American League West.

The loss was only the third for the A's in their last 13 home games against Los Angeles.

Hisanori Takahashi (4-3) worked 1 2/3 innings to get the win in relief of Jerome Williams, who allowed three runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. Jordan Walden picked up his 30th save.

Guillermo Moscoso made it through five innings after flirting with a no-hitter in his last start. Fautino De Los Santos (2-2) was charged with the loss in relief.

Josh Willingham drove in two runs for Oakland. Jemile Weeks doubled in the other A's run.
