MLS: Kansas City 3, Houston 0

KANSAS CITY, Kan., Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Teal Bunbury scored twice Saturday, sending Sporting Kansas City to a 3-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo.

Bunbury scored in the 9th minute off a long pass from Graham Zusi and in the 73rd minute after corralling another long pass, this time from Julio Cesar.

C.J. Sapong tallied the third goal from 6 yards out in the 79th minute.

Kansas City (10-8-10) now holds a five-point lead over Houston (8-9-11), and also moved into a tie for first with Philadelphia, which was to play Portland later Saturday.

Houston's best chances to score came in the 30th minute when Carlos Costly hit the post and the 38th when he headed the ball just wide of the upper-left corner.

Houston is winless in 14 road games this season.
