MLB: Texas 13, Oakland 4

ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Elvis Andrus delivered the first of four RBI Texas singles that broke the game open in the seventh Friday and led the Rangers to a 13-4 win over Oakland.

Texas had only a 4-2 lead heading into the seventh, but poured it on late to successfully open a six-game homestand.

In addition to Young's three-run double in the eighth, Mike Napoli hit a two-run homer in the inning.

Oakland starter Brandon McCarthy (8-8) surrendered four runs on five hits in six innings to take the loss.

The Oakland runs came on two-run homers by Josh Willingham in the first and Hideki Matsui in the eighth.
