PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Vance Worley threw six strong innings Tuesday to lead the Philadelphia Phillies past Atlanta 6-3.
Worley (11-1) allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out six en route to his ninth consecutive win.
The two-run first put the Phillies ahead until the Braves tied the game 2-2 in the sixth. The Phillies hung two runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth and two more in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
Dan Uggla hit his 33rd home run of the season for Atlanta in the fourth inning. Michael Bourn had three hits and Chipper Jones had two.
Tim Hudson (14-9) took the loss in a six-inning start in which he gave up four runs on six hits and four walks. Hudson struck out six.
