MLB: Cincinnati 4, Chi. Cubs 2 (13 inn.)

CHICAGO, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Joey Votto and Miguel Cairo each drove in a run in the top of the 13th inning Tuesday to give the Cincinnati Reds a 4-2 win over the Chicago Cubs.

Dave Sappelt and Votto hit back-to-back doubles to open the inning and break a 2-2 tie. Cairo chipped in with a two-out RBI single to scuttle Chicago's two-game winning streak.

Aroldis Chapman (4-1) picked up the win in relief and Francisco Cordero closed out the game for his 31st save.

Mike Leake started for the Reds and went nine innings, striking out six and limiting the Cubs to three hits. He was one out away from a shutout win, but gave up a pinch-hit two-run home run to Bryan LaHair that tied the score 2-2.

Alfonso Soriano had a pair of hits for Chicago. John Grabow (3-1) took the loss in two innings of relief in which he allowed two runs on four hits.
