MLB: Houston 4, Pittsburgh 1

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Brett Myers won for the first time since June, handcuffing Pittsburgh over 7 2/3 innings Tuesday in the Houston Astros' 4-1 decision over the Pirates.

Myers (4-13) yielded just one run on four hits, walking none and fanning six to pick up his first win since June 17, a span of 14 starts.

Wesley Wright got the final out of the eighth and Mark Melancon tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his 17th save as the Astros evened their three-game set with the Bucs at one win apiece.

Humberto Quintero drove in three runs, including a two-run single in the ninth, and Jimmy Paredes went 3-for-4 with a RBI in the victory.

Brad Lincoln (1-2) took the tough-luck loss, issuing a pair of runs on five hits in a six-inning start for Pittsburgh.
