SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Braylon Edwards won't face suspension over a drunken driving arrest from last year, the team confirmed Tuesday.

Edwards, 28, pleaded guilty in July to a DUI charge brought against him after he was pulled over in New York for having tinted car windows. He failed a Breathalyzer test, police said.

Multiple media reports indicated that while Edwards won't miss any games, he was fined $50,000 by the league for violating its substance abuse policy.

The receiver, who has 326 catches for 5,142 yards and 39 touchdowns in seven NFL seasons for the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets, signed a one-year contract with the 49ers following the NFL lockout.
