Christian Ponder completed 10-of-16 for 83 yards and hit Kyle Rudolph with a 5-yard scoring pass in the second quarter. Alexander Robinson scored on a 4-yard run in the third before King produced touchdown runs of 7 and 2 yards in the final period.

Matt Leinart saw the majority of quarterback action for the Texans, completing 13-of-16 for 145 yards.

Minnesota, which had a 2-2 exhibition record, begins its season at San Diego. Houston will open at home against Indianapolis for the second straight year.

The Texans surprised the Colts 34-24 to begin the 2010 season in a game in which Arian Foster ran for 231 yards -- the largest single-game rushing output in the NFL last season.
