McIlroy shares lead at European Masters

CRANS MONTANA, Switzerland, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Rory McIlroy, the U.S. Open champion, shot a two-under 69 Friday for a share of lead in the European Masters in Switzerland.

After two rounds, McIlroy was joined at 8-under-par 134 by Jamie Donaldson (66), Simon Dyson (68) and Gary Boyd (69).

Nick Dougherty, the first-round leader, slid into a share of fifth place with a one-over 72 to land at minus-7.

Sharing fifth place with Dougherty were 2010 PGA Champion Martin Kaymer (70), Jaco Van Zyl (68), Fabrizio Zanotti (66) and Danny Willett (64).

Among nine players tied for 10th at 6-under-par 136 were No. 2 Lee Westwood (69), Thomas Bjorn (68), who has won twice this season, and Italian teenager Matteo Manassero (66).
