Wie joins trio atop Canadian Women's Open

MIRABEL, Quebec, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Defending champion Michelle Wie fired a 4-under 68 Saturday, forging a three-way tie after three rounds atop the leaderboard of the Canadian Women's Open.

Wie's performance knotted her with second-round co-leader Ai Miyazato (71) and tour rookie Tiffany Joh (65) at 12-under 204, one stroke clear of the rest of the field at Hillside Golf & Country Club.

Angela Stanford, who co-held the lead after two rounds, was plagued by a bogey at No. 17. She went on to an even-par 72, tying her with Brittany Lincicome (69) for fourth place.

Five golfers -- Jiyai Shin (69), Na Yeon Choi (69), Cristie Kerr (69), Becky Morgan (70) and Song-Hee Kim (71) -- tied for sixth place one shot further back at minus-10.
