SEATTLE, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Lamar Neagle scored a hat trick Saturday, powering Seattle to a 6-2 rout of Columbus despite a record 134th career goal for the Crew's Jeff Cunningham.
Mauro Rosales added a goal and two assists and Michael Fucito chipped in with a goal and a helper for Seattle (13-5-9), which won for the eighth time in 11 matches.
The victory allowed the Sounders to pull to within three points of the first-place Los Angeles Galaxy in the Western Conference.
Cunningham tallied in the second half, moving past Jaime Moreno atop the MLS all-time scoring list.
Columbus (11-7-7) retained its four-point lead in the Eastern Conference despite the loss.
