TORONTO, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Ricky Romero shut down Los Angeles on two hits over seven innings and Adam Lind hit a grand slam Saturday in Toronto's 11-2 win over the Angels.

Romero (11-9) notched a win in his fourth straight start, allowing only an Alberto Callaspo solo homer while walking two and striking out three.

The left-hander tossed 68 of his 98 pitches for strikes and lowered his ERA to 2.87, sixth-best in the American League.

The Blue Jays held a 3-1 lead entering the fifth when they exploded for five runs. Yunel Escobar hit a one-out double and Eric Thames and Edwin Encarnacion drew back-to-back walks before Lind blasted his homer.

One out later Mark Teahen also went deep and Toronto went on to take the middle contest of a three-game series against the Angels.

Cy Young Award candidate Jered Weaver (14-6), meanwhile, stretched his winless streak to three games for Los Angeles.

The righty saw his ERA jump from 1.78 to 2.13 after he was tagged for eight runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings for the Angels, who entered the contest two games behind Texas atop the American League West.
