Blake ousts Legg Mason champ Nalbandian

WASHINGTON, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- James Blake downed defending champion David Nalbandian in straight sets Tuesday, advancing to the third round of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic.

Blake, who won the Washington event in 2002 and was second in 2005, had little trouble with the Argentine, posting a 6-2, 6-4 victory.

The American fired seven aces and managed to save all three break chances from the eighth-seeded Nalbandian, who bested Marcos Baghdatis in last year's final.

John Isner of the United States cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win over Germany's Tobias Kamke in another second-round test, recording six aces and winning 34-of-45 service points.

Finland's Jarkko Nieminen and Kevin Anderson of South Africa also notched wins Tuesday.
