MLB: Tampa Bay 8, Seattle 1

SEATTLE, July 31 (UPI) -- Jeremy Hellickson earned the victory and Ben Zobrist and Sean Rodriguez each drove in three runs Sunday in the Tampa Bay Rays' 8-1 win over Seattle.

Hellickson (10-7) notched a victory for the third time in four starts, surrendering one run on five hits and a walk, while striking out two for the Rays.

Zobrist finished 3-for-5, driving in three runs with singles in the third and sixth innings.

Rodriguez, meanwhile, stroked a two-run single in the fourth and added an eighth-inning solo homer for the Rays, who won the three-game series at Safeco Field.

Jason Vargas (6-10) was tagged with the loss, surrendering six runs (four earned) on nine hits over a 5 1/3-inning start.

Casper Wells got Seattle's only RBI.
