MLB: New York Mets 4, Cincinnati 2

CINCINNATI, July 25 (UPI) -- Daniel Murphy's two-run double in the seventh put New York ahead Monday and the Mets survived a scary ninth inning to post a 4-2 win over Cincinnati.

Trailing 1-0 entering the seventh, Jose Reyes and Justin Turner began a four-run rally with one-out singles off Mike Leake (8-6) and Reyes scored the tying run on a Carlos Beltran sacrifice fly.

Lyle Ondrusek relieved and David Wright greeted him with a single. Murphy followed by ripping an 0-1 pitch down the right field line, scoring two runs for a 3-1 Mets lead.

The next batter, Jason Bay, made it 4-1 with another run-scoring double.

Mets closer Jason Isringhausen, however, turned in a shaky ninth that featured an error by Wright. Cincinnati loaded the bases with two outs but Isringhausen recorded his third save when Brandon Phillips struck out to end the game.

Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (5-6) notched the victory with 6 2/3 innings in which he yielded a pair of runs on eight hits and a walk. He struck out seven.

Leake absorbed the loss despite allowing only two runs on eight hits in a 6 1/3-inning effort.
