ARLINGTON, Texas, July 24 (UPI) -- Michael Young delivered a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth inning Saturday, boosting the Texas Rangers to a 5-4 win over Toronto.
Trailing 4-3 heading into their final at-bat, the first-place Rangers stunned the Blue Jays with a pair of runs and came away with their ninth straight home win.
Texas then tied the score when Elvis Andrus laid down a perfect suicide squeeze bunt and Mike Napoli raced home from third.
After Josh Hamilton (3-for-4, RBI) was intentionally walked, Young smacked a solid hit to right field for the game-winner.
Darren Oliver (3-5) was credited with the victory after retiring Travis Snider with two on and two out in the top of the ninth.
J.P. Arencibia hit a solo homer Eric Thames added an RBI triple for the Blue Jays.
